Hello brave people who have wandered here. We are The Broads, Mimi and Gigi. You know, the girls that say the shit that most people only think of saying. We met each other over a year ago on the Internet– a weird BFF romance, or “ho-mance.” We have been connected by texts ever since! We plan on using our blog to talk shit, possibly review some fun bedroom toys, or share some new cool thing we’ve discovered. Basically, it’s a peek into the secret lives of girls. Getting to know Gigi…

Dear black hole of space that is the Internet;

Incase anyone should wander by this lovely little blog and develop an interest in the babble-scratchings contained in it, I thought I would write a little diddy to introduce myself.

My name (at least for the purpose of this blog) is Gigi. I am one half (or maybe even one third) of the dynamic duo that is The Broads.

Here are some things that Gigi is:

A semi-neurotic perfectionist with an uncanny eye for details and the tendency to over-commit herself
Mommy to a most adorable 4th grader
Involved in a 13 year relationship because of a fear of commitment
Often a living, breathing contradiction
An unemployed work-a-holic (at least at the moment)
A fan of books
A half-assed art maker
A fan of professional football and sports radio
A vegetarian with a nasty hate for canned and frozen veggies and fruit
A sarcastic bitch with an addiction to adjectives
A moderate germ-a-phobe with a crippling fear of going #2 in public restrooms– or even at other people’s houses
A perpetual student chasing the dream of many degrees
One of math’s biggest fans
One of gin’s biggest fans

And, just so we are clear, here are some things that Gigi is not:

Someone used to speaking about herself in the third person
An athlete
The typical mom
A writer with any kind of training or qualifications
A morning person
Fond of doctors or life-long politicians
A fan of hot weather or the beach
A drama queen (although she doesn’t mind starting shit)
A fan of the C-String
A fan of movies, or celebrities and their whirlwind of gossipy bullshit, publicity stunts, foreign child adoptions, and award shows
Much of a T.V. watcher
Always friendly
Sure of the direction her life should take

These lists are a good starting point… The brain barf that is to be my regular contributions to this site will help to fill in the blanks. A little. Or, at least I hope so.
